By the way, growing up in the suburbs of Chicago then was great due to the great shows available then. I can't believe this venue only held 9000 people. Seemed alot bigger then. Those were the days..all this for $11.50..We saw Rush, Zeppelin, Stones, Yes, etc etc...Rock on Homewood-Flossmoor High!

I just came across this site while trying to research some old concert tickets with my daughter. I too was at this show and it made me a true Yes fan. I also attended the show in 1980 less Jon Anderson. Not as good but still worth it. Great memories and thanks for your input.

This was my third yes show at the time. I am able to post over a quarter of a century later because I took pictures that night, I recorded the show off the radio the night before and still listen to it and because I just found this section of the site. Pure Joy!
Yes walked through the audience to the stage in the round and began with SK; just as the keyboards came in, the stage began to turn. Crescendo was the theme for the night. Due to the excitement continuing all evening the crowd stayed on its feet most of the night screaming cheers at the end of every song about 90 minutes into the almost 3 hour night came ST and it sounded like the place was coming down. Yes definitely feeds on crowd energy. The continuing crescendo brought out the passion of all. Bass Solo during The Fish, The Clap with a solo piece by Steve in the middle, Rick six wiving away, Jon doing extended harp work on Awaken. The majesty and power of Yes came ringing through. The radio brodcast the night before has the best SK I have ever heard. The sound was perfect. The lighting was spectacular. The star shape had the points lower at times. During Awaken the sides of the lights had starlight coming from them while spots came from the sides with no lights on inside the star itself - quite beautiful. For the energy of the evening this was the highest I have ever experienced. 2002, where Jon stopped America for the crowd noise started there but didn't sustain - I guess were are older now - but back then we all reveled in each other. "In the morning when you rise do you open up your eyes and see what I see" Love
