Yes was opening act for Iron Butterfly. There is a small article [Goteborgsposten (Gothenburg Post)] before the show in which the editor says: (roghly translated)
"To call Yes a 'worm-up-band' is more or less an insult, but they just have to settle with being the opening act."
He continues with saying that he likes TaaW, how interesting it would be to hear their new album with the new guitarist, Steve Howe and that he expected Yes and Iron Butterfly to have a jam-session at the end of the show, which they (according to this editor) had in the beginning of the tour, in Holland.
In January 25th there is a small review of the show, same editor. The headline is:
"Concert with Contrasts"
"Yesterdays concert at the Concerthall was in many ways much better than I had hoped for, and also plesantly alterned" (very, VERY rough translation)
He was very impressed by Steve (who isn't?) and he called him "a master on guitar". Steve had given Yes a new exiting edge to the music and he thought that Yes where "one of UKs best groups right now". He waited eagerly for TYA, which was recently completed. He thought that Yes played "well arranged melodious pop". (WHAT?? POP??? WHAT????)Yes was a good contrast to Irons more "heavy sound". Yes gets aprox. 1/3 of the review, Iron butterfly 2/3. Oh Yes, the editor was quite impressed by Ron Bushys transparent drumkit! He also mentions that Iron Butterfly was then Atlantics greatest success in all times with "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" as best selling album for 2 1/2 years and nearly 3 million copies sold. Does anyone know if Yes did any better in their glory days?
